Millwood Loves Its Trees!
Millwood hosted its first Arbor Day Celebration on April 28th, with a visit from Spokane County Conservation District arborist Garth Davis. In addition to planting a pink dogwood in the Jeanne Batson Arboretum, all those in attendance gained a wealth of knowledge about tree planting and pruning.
Millwood Mayor Dan Mork is actively pursuing a Tree City USA status for the town, a designation that reflects a community-wide interest in investing time and energy in developing and preserving Millwood's parks and streetscape.
Reflecting this active interest in Millwood's natural beauty, a community-wide tree planting and pruning workshop with Mr. Davis is planned for mid-July. When set, the date will be announced both in the Mayor's newsletter and on the town Web site.
